The Longhorn Entrepreneurship Agency (LEA) is an agency of the Student Government at UT-Austin. We aim to expose students to all things entrepreneurship by connecting them to the vast pool of entrepreneurial resources available to them. These resources include experienced entrepreneur faculty/mentors, physical office space, new venture development, learning experiences, enabling technology, and meeting potential co-founders.
Most LEA agents are not actually entrepreneurs, but have a strong interest in entrepreneurship and serving the student body. One of the main events LEA puts on is called UT Entrepreneurship Week (UTEWeek), which is a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit on the 40 acres. UTEWeek is a week long of events which showcases and promotes entrepreneurship to students, faculty, and the Austin community. Freshman Founders is a program within LEA which is meant to provide freshmen who are passionate about startups access to these resources through a semester-long series of fun entrepreneurial seminars. A typical seminar will include a networking reception, entrepreneurial exercise and exposure to resources.
Serving the Longhorn Startup Community through the LEA is a great way to connect to the resources above and prepare yourself for future entrepreneurial ventures. Each agent fulfills a specific role in the agency, and regular meeting attendance is required.
Current UT Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors are eligible to apply
